LEI Researchers Share Green Economy Insights and Sustainable Industry Solutions at Vilnius GreenTech Forum

On 7 November 2024, the Vilnius Green Economy, Energy, and Transport Forum, known as Vilnius GreenTech, gathered Lithuania’s democratic and EU business, political, and scientific communities to foster green progress. The organisers emphasised that a decisive green transformation of the economy and industry is essential for a secure future in Lithuania, noting that delays in green progress heighten economic risks.

The forum attracted a diverse assembly of business, political, and social leaders, with up to 3,000 attendees and over 100 speakers and panellists.

In the "Lithuanian Green Technology Leadership" session, presenters showcased Lithuania’s green technology advancements and shared success stories from the European Horizon Programme. Among the speakers, Dr. Nerijus Striūgas, Head of the Combustion Processes Laboratory at LEI, introduced the GIFFT project. This innovative initiative aims to support the decarbonisation of the energy-intensive glass manufacturing sector by developing fuel-flexible technologies.
